Cait + Justin

Cait + Justin’s wedding day took place at one of the sweetest, quaintest little venues in West Granby called Holcomb Farm. The venue contains many beautiful amenities including a gorgeous red barn, tall trees, a bridge, and a beautiful open field for the perfect ceremony. The reception site was on the same property as the ceremony and had a beautiful deck area with a fire pit (which was perfect for Cait + Justin’s beautiful fall wedding) as well as string lights, and an absolutely gorgeous indoor reception hall that was to DIE for.

My day began photographing Cait getting ready at her mother’s home in Plymouth, CT. A month prior I was at this same home photographing Cait’s sister Erin’s wedding, so you could say I knew the layout / ins and outs of their house very well. Cait + her amazing bridesmaids and I hung out that morning and laughed, cracked jokes, + photographed all the moments Cait + Justin will have to look back on for years to come. From Cait’s beautiful bouquet to her absolutely GORGEOUS wedding dress, I knew this day would be nothing short of amazing. Cait ended her time getting ready with her bridesmaids by doing a first look with them. Their reactions did not disappoint and a lot of tears were shed (even by me).

We finished up getting ready photos at Cait’s mother’s home then hopped in the limo and began our 45 minute drive to Holcomb Farm. Upon arrival, I met up with my amazing second photographer Amanda w/ Cottonwood Photography and we shot all the details around the farm and explored the ceremony space and got ready to photograph the most important time for Cait + Justin. Their reception hall + decorations were something that just HAD to be photographed. I remember coming up to Cait and saying she was the Pinterest queen. The hall was decorated with beautiful greenery + golden hoops to represent the goals in Quidditch tournaments in Harry Potter. Strung from the lights throughout the space was golden snitches as well as Lego creations built by Justin. Did you just saw ‘awww’ or did your heart melt into a million pieces? Because SAME. It was a Pinterest-Harry Potter-Quidditch Lego theme match made in heaven and I LOVED it.

After capturing every unique little detail of Cait + Justin’s reception hall, I went to the ceremony site and waited. I honestly couldn't imagine anything topping the reception hall but oh boy was I wrong. Cait + Justin’s ceremony site was absolutely gorgeous, the trees had that golden color as the light peeked through, and it was a beautiful fall day. I loved every second of it.

I could go on and on about how perfect Cait + Justin’s wedding day was but I’ll end it here by saying I freaking love these two. Having done their engagements, to Cait’s sister’s wedding, to Cait’s wedding, these two will forever + always hold a special place in my heart. And these two will always be one of my favorites!!!
